Arik Ascherman is an American-born Israeli Reform rabbi and co-founder and President of Rabbis for Human Rights. As a human rights activist, he has participated in numerous protests to defend Palestinians against Israeli settler violence. Ascherman grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania and attended Harvard University.

Zakaria Sadeh is a Palestinian resident of Jit and has been involved in cooperative human rights work with Israelis for many years. He began as a volunteer with Physicians for Human Rights and is now a field researcher for Rabbis for Human Rights.

Rabbis For Human Rights is a rabbinic voice of conscience in Israel, defending human rights of marginalized communities within Israel and the Palestinian Territories. The organization was founded in 1988, and today has over 100 members, including ordained Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Renewal rabbis as well as some rabbinical students. It is also supported by Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist Rabbinical organizations in North America and the UK.
