Donald Trump’s White House over the weekend unveiled the economic part of its vision for Israeli-Palestinian peace. Tomorrow, it will convene an "economic workshop" in Manama, Bahrain, to rally support for its “peace plan".
To assess the Manama meeting, Trump’s economic plan for the Palestinians, the prospects for its success, and the agenda behind the White House’s policy toward the Palestinians, APN hosted a briefing call on June 27th 2019 with Khaled Elgindy of the Brookings Institution. Elgindy is the author of the newly released book, Blind Spot: America and the Palestinians, from Balfour to Trump. One of Washington’s leading experts on Palestinian policy, and Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts, Elgindy served in 2004-2009 as an advisor to the Palestinian leadership on permanent-status negotiations with Israel.
