A new resolution introduced in the House of Representatives makes clear that only a two-state solution can ensure Israel’s future as a liberal democracy and national home for the Jewish people, while also fulfilling Palestinian national aspirations.
Ask your representative to co-sponsor this measure affirming the need for a two-state solution.
With the Trump team doing all in its power to put prospects for a two-state solution out of reach, it is imperative that Congress reaffirm loudly and clearly America’s decades-long and historically bipartisan commitment to the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state living in peace and security as Israel’s neighbor. This is particularly so given that President Trump and his “peace team” refused to condemn Benjamin Netanyahu’s pre-election pledge to annex West Bank settlements. In fact, Jared Kushner and his lieutenants are poised to release a plan that is practically guaranteed not to bring about anything that would be recognizable as statehood for Palestinians.
House Resolution 326 – introduced by Reps. Alan Lowenthal, Karen Bass, and Gerry Connolly – makes clear that any US plan for addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that does not embrace as its goal a two-state solution will harm the prospects for peace. It reaffirms America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, desire for an end to occupation, and longstanding opposition to settlement expansion and unilateral annexation of Palestinian territory.
Help us to rally Congress around this important initiative.
